Benoit Courti
Benoit Courti is one of my favourite photographers. This is because his work, the photographs above, is unique to other photographers, he has his own style and technique. But what I like most about his photographs is that it is all still a portrait even though the faces are, mostly, out of focus and the props that have been used are sharp and in focus.
There is nothing that I do not like about his photographs or his technique as it is all unique and creative.
I would improve his photographs by, maybe, having something in the background for some of the photographs, but these photographs look eye-catching and unique as they are, with a plain background, this is because your eyes go straight to the subject rather than looking at what is elsewhere in the picture.
I will be trying out this close-up technique in my own photographs for my Black & White section. I will try and mimic the way he has kept it as a portrait, blurred the face and then had a prop in focus. I will still make my photographs look unique and have something, for example representing me or a theme, like a story.

Andrew Farrington
Andrew Farrington is another photographer that I like because he is different to other photographers, shown above where he has taken photos of different people wearing the same hat but made them look unique. The pictures shown above is a theme that he has called "One Hat Wonders". I like his style in his work because he has chosen a theme, that he has thought of, and then made sure that it is different to everyone else.
I would improve his photographs by, maybe, have a mixture of things in the background, so a plain background for some and then something going on in the background for others.
I am going to mimic Andrew Farrington's style of work by having a theme for my photographs and, at the same time, make it unique to me so that they are not the same as everyone else's. When taking photographs I would like my photographs to have character, like the photographs shown above, and style, this would mean that they would be eye-catching to other people and not just to me.

Katherine Carver
Katherine Carver is another one of my chosen photographers for Black & White Photography and I do like her work. I like her work because she hasn't done what most people would do, which is just take a photo of a dog, she has made the photographs look unique by taking close ups and portrait photographs of the dogs and rather than stick with the same dog she has taken photographs of other breeds of dog as well.
I don't think there is anything I dislike about her work because it is all unique and different and well thought out.
I can't think of any improvements for Katherine Carvers work because, again, she has made it look different and interesting to everyone but herself. She has had a mixture of dogs rather than sticking to the same one and has also took some close ups of the dogs like their ear or of them standing up.
I am, again, going to mimicking Katherine Carvers work also because I think that it would be adventurous to try and take photos like hers because you would have to get the lighting and the angle right and you would also have to be quick, but effective because some dogs won't sit still for a long period of time.
