The image above, to the left, is Benoit Courti's image and the image to the right is my mimic of that photograph. I edited my image on the website picmonkey.com. I changed the colour image into "Black and White" and then added the "Dark Edges" effect to make the background darker like Benoit Courti's image on the left. I had my model hold a playing card just like Benoit Couti's image but I have chosen to do mine with the ace of spades and not the joker, this is because I wanted to put my own little spin on the image rather than have everything the same. I also made sure the model was wearing dark clothing in order to keep the darkness all around the subject.
The image above, to the left, is Benoit Courti's image and the image to the right is my mimic of that photograph. I edited my image on the website picmonkey.com. I changed the colour image into "Black and White" and then added the "Dark Edges" effect in order to make the background darker like Benoit Courti has done in his. I had my model blow a bubble slowly in order for to capture it properly before it popped. There is nothing in this image that has my spin on it because there was not much I was able to change into my own with this image.
The images above are Benoit Courti's work, on the left and my impressions of his work, to the right. I edited my image on the picmonkey.com website. I used the "Black and White" background effect to turn the colour image into just black and white, I then I added a "Dark Edges" effect to make my image darker like Benoit Courti's photograph. I had both my models go to hold hands and I had the female model turn the ring to face the camera, this was my own personal twist to the image so that the ring is the subject and so that it is not plain, the viewer has something to look at.

I used the "Black and White" background effect to change the colour photograph to black and white, I then also used the "Dark Edges" effect around the frame of the photograph to make the picture darker like Benoit Courti's image. I had my models hold each others wrist like Benoit Courti did in his image, I also had them leave their sleeves down and the female model had a bracelet on her wrist. This is my own personal twist on the original image because it shows the contrast in the image better, with the sleeves down, and the bracelet is there so that it looks ordinary and not staged.

My Impressions |
On the left shows Katherine Carver's image and on the right shows my impression on that image. I edited my image, firstly, on the picmonkey.com website. I changed the colour image into black and white using the background effects. I also then added a dark edged frame effect on top to make the image darker. I then opened my edited image in Adobe Photoshop and made the dark edges spread more all over the background to make it look more like Katherine Carver's image. The different between our two images is that she has used a Chihuahua and I used my Westy.
Again, on the left is Katherine Carver's image and on the right is my impression of that image. I edited my image on the picmonkey.com website and used the background effects to change the colour image into black and white. I then used the "dark edges" frame effect in order to make the edges darker and to darken the whole image, so that it looked more like the image on the left. Again, the only difference is that i used a completely different dog to what Katherine Carver used in hers. I positions the side of the dogs face on the left and only took a photo of half the face just like Katherine Carver did in hers.
Again, on the left is Katherine Carver's image and on the right is my impression of that image. I edited my image on the picmonkey.com website and used the "Black and white" background effect to change the colour image to black and white. I then used the "Dark Edges" effect to darken the image so that it looked darker like the one on the left. Unfortunately, I am not as impressed with this one as I am with the previous two because the carpet is not black like in the image to the left. The only difference between our images is that I have used a different dog than the one on the left.
